This all came to light a while ago but it recently popped up again when the trailer and Taylor Swift song dropped, hence the included article/tweet. The Buzzfeed article is a mess but it does link to a great piece from the New Yorker that documents Delia Owens time in Zambia:

In 2010, almost a decade before the book’s release, the New Yorker published a lengthy article written by Jeffrey Goldberg called “The Hunted" which details Delia’s time in Africa alongside her then-husband Mark and his son Christopher.

Some highlights:
-both Delia and Mark are wanted in Zambia for questioning over the murder, which was filmed and aired on ABC back in 1995
-the victim’s identity was never revealed nor was it ever confirmed if he was a would-be poacher or a trespasser
-the New Yorker piece suggested that it was her stepson Christopher who fired at least one of the shots
-Mark has also been accused of attempting to cover up the crime as the body has never been recovered, with some reports claiming that he dumped it into a lake
-in addition to the Owens family seemingly being radical activists, they have also been accused of having “archaic ideas about Africans” in their extensive conservation work
-on their Owens Foundation website, they referred to Africa as “the Dark Continent,” and in their book Secrets of the Savanna, Delia and Mark called for human population control across the continent
-those who are aware of Delia's past in Africa were alarmed by the parallels between her real life and the plot of Where the Crawdads Sing

The swimwear brand also claims that Sweeney appropriated the designs for her own use because she wore the swimsuits on at least 5 episodes of #Euphoria.

According to the brand LA Collective, they had an agreement with Sydney so she would promote their line but then all of the sudden her team cancelled everything and refused to proceed with the deal.

Now the brand is claiming that Sydney appropriated the designs for her own use and wore them on at least 5 Euphoria episodes. The brand estimated they were supposed to earn about $3 million dollars with Sydney's help. Her team hasn't commented on the suit.

• THRs resident awards pundit is also in a rush to predict nominations. The author prefaces his choices by saying they, “reflect[s] his best attempt to predict the behavior of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, not his personal preferences.” Still doesn’t explain how he thinks Euphoria will score three nominations in the Best Supporting Actress category though.

• Eligibility closes May 31 and nominations are set to be announced on July 12. NBC is hosting this years ceremony on September 12. No host has been announced yet.

Pearl Jam's Matt Cameron has apologized to Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters after Rolling Stone magazine published an article about Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins' final days. In the article, blame is not so subtly placed on Grohl and the band for pushing Hawkins beyond his physical limits and leading to his death at 50.

In a statement posted to Instagram, Cameron says, "When I agreed to take part in the Rolling Stone article about Taylor, I assumed it would be a celebration of his life and work. My quotes were taken out of context and shaped into a narrative I never intended. Taylor was a dear friend, and a next level artist."

Cameron added, "I miss him. I have only the deepest love and respect for Taylor, Dave and the Foo Fighters families. I am truly sorry to have taken part in this interview and I apologize that my participation may have caused harm to those for whom I have only the deepest respect and admiration."

In a conversation about mental health, SZA revealed that she left the Met Gala early due to anxiety. She says she hated her outfit, and didn’t feel confident or physically comfortable in it. That contributed to her feeling “overwhelmed” and anxious during the party.

“I was feeling very like, 'Whoa, my anxiety's going crazy,'" SZA said. "So much so that I couldn't walk down the main steps to exit. I took a cab. I walked like three city blocks with no shoes on…"

"I just tiptoed a couple blocks and caught a yellow cab back to my hotel because I was just overwhelmed," the singer continued. "I had too much anxiety to wait for my cab in front of the crowd, and take pictures, and all those things. I didn't want to do that. So I was looking like a little dirty Cinderella running away with my shoes."
